Where the hell am I?!? LOL SEMUR EN AUXOIS, Bourgogne, France...........L'apero!

I thought this was a cool little chart!

Hello!
Eating well. And have been drinking some amazing wine lately. Still in Bourgogne, and loving every minute. I am falling in love with a very special man, and Spring is really bringing on some warm temperatures.
Late evenings, lite showers, long sunsets, and new beginnings.
Merci de Printemps! Bises!

L'apero?! He likes Pastis.....I like local liquers! But there seems to be something for everyone!

According to Wiki:
An apéritif is an alcoholic beverage usually served before a meal to stimulate the appetite, and is therefore usually dry rather than sweet. Common choices for an apéritif arevermouthchampagnepastisginrakıfinoamontillado or other styles of dry sherry (but not usually cream sherry, which is very sweet and rich); and any still, dry, light white wine.
"Apéritif" may also refer to a snack that precedes a meal. This includes an amuse-bouche, such as crackerscheesepâté or olives.
"Apéritif" is a French word derived from the Latin verb aperire, which means "to open." The French slang word for "apéritif" is "apéro." Although in France an "apéro" is also food eaten in the late afternoon/early evening.

Romance with this one.....I think I will keep him! Loves l'apero and it's always a fun break!
In America, it's kind of our version of Happy Hour......

Yummy!!!!! Specailty of Bourgogne Pate du cassis, Pate du Bourgogne w/ local sices,
Romaine salad w/ tomatoes and baby sardines......Yummy l'apero small bites w/ that day Kir (Aligote and Cassis) and finished with a wonderful bottle of Pinot Noir Bourgogne style. Rustic, French countryside heaven!

Epic winter soup in the making. Cold winter's nite. Back in Dijon, France.

Le Marché (French farmers market) In Dijon, France that is Tuesday, Friday, and Saturdays around here. Rain, snow cold or shine.....you can find amazing organic foods and fruits/veggies! I love the the vegatables and honey.
It would not be fun for me if I didn't stop by the La Buvette Du Marché  for the latest Bourgogne Sauvingon, et Macon, vin et les huîtres! (wine and oysters). J'adore!

If your looking close, I'm cheating a little with a California organic Preston Zinfandel , which will pair wonderfully with my meal I have prepared.

Who needs a boyfriend, when a yummy soup can warm my heart.........

Bon Appetite!

#nofilter Just home. Sunset chillin. Wide Awake in twilight, San Francisco, California.

There are many protest going on, and rightfully so.......
I am just going to enjoy this bit of peace.

A lot of cool things are happening and have happened!

I just got back from Europe. Jet lag was very hard this time. Anyway, still nerding out on my last few days in France.

I made the paper in Dijon, France! It makes me happy my parents are proud.

I went to Poligny, Franche-Comte, France! Home of the Vin Jaune (yellow Vine).

Some of these vines go back centuries! Some of the Savagvin has aging ability 40-50+years! The more Savagnin, the higher the cellar age, and you know what that means........ ;)

Here are a view of my favorites! Must go to villages to get.....

Giant Barrels! Wine aged in 11th century church. Mighty impressive! J'adore!

The lat few days in Dijon were magical, and very cold for this California girl. I have to go back and there will be snow in February, so I must be prepared! Here are some wonderful holiday pics from the Pere Noel Marche, in Place de Republic, which is right by my flat.

Jazz always souds good to me. Jazz sounds especially good in the winter.......

In love with the doors in Europe. Dijon, France has some of the most amazing doorways!

We the girls were about to leave and then, "Wait, Wait, girls! Before you leave, we would like to sing you a song!"

My favorite after lunch/dinner delight..... This happens to be wine wine, rum, sugar, with vanilla stick! I love this stuff. Cafe L'Industrie, Dijon, France.

Le Marche, (Framers Market) Dijon, France.

La Buvette Marche, Wine Bar in the Market( La Marche). This is my favorite spot. Working in the wine biz, it's nice to take your hat off, eat some good plump oysters, and drink good wine. No points, No crap. Just goodness, and peace of mind.
